Hello, my name is Nelson Terema and I am the Chief Executive Officer for the Road Traffic Authority of Papua New Guinea.
The Road Traffic Authority (RTA) has been established by the National Parliament to administer the regulation, safety and use of land transport throughout Papua New Guinea.
Driver Licensing is an important part of road safety in our Country and you are helping by obtaining the correct license.
There are important changes to the Drivers License process. All exisiting Drivers Licenses for all classes of vehicles and machinery have been cancelled and now need to be replaced with the new Official RTA Drivers License for the Class of Motor vehicle or machinery that you want to operate.
To get an Official RTA Drivers License you need to complete 5 important steps:
We have partnered with FrontLine Licensing PNG to conduct the theory and practical driving tests before your license is issued by the RTA. FrontLine Licensing PNG are our Official Partners to conduct Compulsory Driver Training, Theory Testing and Practical Testing.
There are many Practice Theory Tests that you can take before the Drivers License Real Theory Test. The practice tests are free and will help you pass the Real Theory Test.
For Compulsory Driver Training, if you had a previous Drivers License you will need to complete a minimum of 1 practical training session. If you have never had a previous Drivers License you will need to complete a minimum of 3 practical training sessions. Compulsory Driver Training is done with our official Partner FrontLine Licensing PNG.
All the information you need to understand is in the following pages which you can access through the links below.
These are important changes to Drivers Licenses and will help improve Road Safety.
Thank you again for your support for road safety in Papua New Guinea.
Nelson Terema
